Over 90 species of birds have been recorded in and around Mutton Cove.
Black winged stilts are nomadic and endemic to Australia and while they don’t breed at Mutton Cove, they feed here extensively.
Quail breed at Mutton Cove and Red capped plovers visit to feed.
Other birds seen regularly include pelicans, ducks, chats, grebe, elegant parrots, rock parrots and dotterels.
